Not a chance would I want to do this...unless my company was paying for a treadmill that went in my cube and then I might compormise. However...what's the sweat protection on that thing?!

Yeah, that's just wrong. On so many levels (including that level stand it's on). When I workout, I'm really looking to workout - build up a sweat. Not be able to carry on a conversation easily. If you're using this, you're not doing a very strenuous workout.

And isn't a secondary purpose of working out to relieve the stress of the day (or start the day stress free). Working while working out = increased stress...

I could go on, but...I've got work to get done, so I can then go home and work out. Hey, maybe this device is for me after all (not!).

Charlotte,

I'm sorry, but what you are suggesting is just mythical, its fiction and its exactly what Mike was talking about. "Long lean" muscles are not something that are "created or destroyed" in the weight room. Ballet dancers are ballet dancers and gymnasts are gymnasts. Complain to your parents if you dont like how your built. From a hormonal standpoint it is next to impossible for a women to significantly hypertrophy muscle. If a woman is "bulking out" it is because her diet is bad and/or she is not doing enough of the aforementioned interval training. Please stop giving women excuses to not train hard! It doesn't matter what your "mindset" getting fit is getting fit and building muscle is building muscle. Tone is a myth. It is just a reduction in BODYFAT with the addition of some lean tissue.

FBG,
Glad you like the song!

Lance,
Glad you don't hate the song! :)

Charlotte,
I know, I need to see American Anthem again now, too. But ... did you notice how terrible the acting was in the clip? Maybe I shouldn't watch it, so I can continue to remember it as amazing.

At first blush, no way was I adding it - not my style. But, I let it go a little longer into the song, and you know what, I do like it. It has a tempo that really lends itself well to getting you pumped up during a workout. So...the verdict is...I "may" add it. I'll have to listen a couple more times.

FANTASTIC post. My fitness epiphany came in grad school when I learned that no, even though you work out like a firned you still can't eat everything in sight. I was so in shock at the time that I actually thought that maybe I was just preg. This was followed by crash dieting, using my weight as a source of self esteem, obsession and --years later after working through some issues--finally a healthy outlook.

And yes, I'm a fan of peertrainer.com for recording meals and workouts. But no cal counting for me! Just hunger watching. :)
